Today I did the Crayola challenge. The Crayola challenge is when you sketch and ink a drawing with whatever tools you want and then use only Crayola branded products to color. Some of you might wonder why this is such a challenge, I found this a challenge because I am use to using alcohol based markers and for this challenge I used a 20 set of crayola water based makers and water based markers act very different to alcohol based makers for example:
- Alcohol based makers blend better then water based markers.
- Alcohol based markers can bleed through your line art.
- Water based markers eat away the paper if you layer risking it to tear a hole trough the paper.
etc.
I tried not to blend or layer to much because that could cause the paper to tear. I found that it was easier to pick colors with crayola markers rather then copics because simply because of the fact I had a wider color selection.
